Dark Pokemon

Pure Dark Pokemon

• Umbreon

The only pure dark type and it's kind of an oddball especially among eevee evolutions. It's very defensively oriented as it has some of the highest defense and special defense ratings in the game. A lot of people want to shy away from it because of it's lack of immediate attack capability. But it has a very nice moveset you can use and really devastate your opponents.

4. Double edge(trade eevee to R/B/Y and use TM10)

Dark Ice

• Sneasel

It's name really got butchered in the translation. Nyura was much better. A lot of people think this is a really bad pokemon. It's type does carry a lot of weaknesses to the major pokemon types plus a double weakness to fighting. It's stats are similar to those of persian with higher attack and lower defense. Probably wouldn't be too bad with shadow ball curse and agility. It's gang beating isn't anything to write home about but it is interesting since it utilizes your entire team's special attack rating.

Fire Spin, Rage, Pursuit, Counter, Spite, Reversal, Gang Beating
• Houndoom
Houndoom is probably going to be a very common pokemon to see on a team. high attack special attack and speed make it a formidible opponent. Once it has used sunny day solar beam takes only one turn so beware. Has a very low defense rating though.

• Murkrow

An interesting pokemon. It's flying type negates the usual dark weakness to fighting. It's stats are average but it can get many good moves through breeding including Whirlwind, Drill Peck, Quick Attack, Mirror Move, Wing Attack and so can be a good baton breaker. It is also one of the few pokemon that can really exploit the opponent's stat changes(The other is persian and the rest are legendaries). By using psych up it can copy the changes and then remove them from the opponent by using whirlwind. One of it's downsides is that it can't get crunch(the most powerful dark attack). But it is a useful pokemon nonetheles.
• Tyrannitar

None of the earlier stages of this pokemon are of the dark type but once it evolves it becomes an incredibly powerful pokemon. I'ts on the same level stat wise as dragonite(and evolves at the same levels). Also like dragonite it has a double weakness. But it is to fighting type moves. Good special high attack and good versatility though not as versatile as dragonite. A great pokemon just beware of fighters.
